What are Dolch Sight Words?
The Dolch Sights Words are a group of 220 words that are often taught to children who are learning to read. It includes the most frequently used words in the English language. It also contains words that are difficult for a beginning reader to sound out phoenetically, making it necessary to learn these words “by sight.” Learning sight words is an essential foundation upon which to base later reading skills. The key to learning the words is repetition and practice.

The pre-primer or pre-K words are:
